This Palo Alto home was a full renovation by Fiorella Design. We designed and managed the interior and exterior renovation. The home had not been updated in well over 30 years and the interior rooms were closed-off and dark. Our clients’ goal was for us to modernize and to open the living space to make the house feel bigger and brighter. They also needed better use of the spaces, and for us to create better storage solutions and overall flow.
When reconfiguring the bedroom areas, Mary Jo found space and was able to make the two kid’s bedrooms each have their own en-suite bathroom. We completely renovated the master suite, the laundry and powder room. We created a new fireplace and cabinetry design in the family room that can be closed off with modern barn doors.
The home’s exterior needed a full refresh as well. The exterior had original board and batten paneling. By changing out windows, adding a new roof, all new landscape and fresh white paint, the house is now a very modern take on the farmhouse aesthetic. Additionally, Mary Jo designed the landscape layout and details at the entry, back patio and grill areas. All the furniture, decorative lighting and construction management was done by Fiorella Design. The result is a home that feels consistent all the way through.
